We currently have an opportunity for Automation Developer for our client’s data services division. Looking for QA support to be apart of their Data Transformation Program with different lines of businesses such as capital markets, personal banking and retail banking

What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for testing technologies in the Data & Analytics Delivery team and working with the project team by applying Quality Assurance best practices. You will be responsible for managing day to day test implementations under areas of the Data & Analytics data platforms and services, working closely with the QA and Development leads to understand the technologies as well as develop and execute automated test cases for important applications provisioning data.
  • Analyze, review and provide feedback on high-level business and technical / functional requirements
  • Create Agile test plan, test cases, automation test scripts and execute automated QA testing in projects related to enterprise data warehouse, enterprise data lake & cloud environments
  • Create automated test scripts to compare large datasets in data warehouse, Hadoop and Cloud environments
  • Maintain and provide timely testing status reports during testing phases to QE leads and project managers
  • Create and maintain QE artefacts in Jira, Confluence and Share Point sites, ALM and /or QTest.
  • Conduct risk analysis, requirement review ensuring sufficient coverage in respect of project constraints and driving factors
  • Continually enhance your own skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems
  • Support in development or enhancements to the in-house built automation tools
  • Provide support to Test Data Management team if required

Education
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong technical knowledge, systematic trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of Quality Engineering methodologies, QE approaches, testing frameworks
  • Experienced in Functional Testing, Non-Functional, Integration Testing, End To End testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance (UAT), Data Validation and Regression Testing
  • Experience in working with Big Data
  • Knowledge and understanding of ETL, Data Warehouse, Hadoop and Cloud environments
Knowledge and understanding in following technologies
  • Automation Tools : Robot Framework, Ready API, Selenium
  • Programming / Scripting Languages : Python, JAVA, C#, Scala
  • Database Languages: SQL
  • Big Data: Apache Spark, PySpark
  • DevOps Pipeline: GitHub, Jenkins, SVN
  • Python Libraries: Pandas, NumPy, etc.
  • Web Technologies : HTML, XML, JSON
  • Web Server Technologies : REST and SOAP
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Work independently or as part of a team
  • Willing to learn continuously and grow
Nice to Have:
  • Mainframe utilities
  • HDFS / HBASE / HIVE
  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and understanding using Jira and Confluence
  • Other Tools: IBM Mainframe, DVM, Mainframe Utilities, DataStage
  • Database Languages: Teradata SQL Query language, SPARK SQL
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Understanding of IT Standards, Methodologies, SDLC, audit requirements
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
